WICT, LOTUS, and PRIDE ERG Bring Island Vibes to the Office with “Lei Back and Reconnect” Event
August 19, 2025 – Las Vegas, NV

The WICT Network, in collaboration with the LOTUS and PRIDE employee resource groups, hosted a vibrant and welcoming mid-day mixer titled “Back in the Office? Let’s Lei Back and Reconnect!” at 1700 Vegas Drive today. From 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, employees gathered in Room JR1 for an afternoon of food, fun, and networking.

Designed to ease the transition back to in-person work, the casual get-together encouraged attendees to relax, meet new colleagues, and learn more about the inclusive communities supported by WICT, LOTUS, and PRIDE. The event featured a festive tropical theme, complete with leis, upbeat music, and a taco lunch spread that drew crowds.
Organizers emphasized the importance of building community and connection in the workplace, especially for those who may be new to the office or curious about joining the affiliated networks.
“This is about more than just tacos and leis. It’s about creating space where everyone feels seen, supported, and excited to be part of something bigger.

The event welcomed both members and non-members, inviting all employees to discover the opportunities offered by the three networks — whether they’re seeking professional development, cultural connection, or a supportive space to be themselves.

WICT Board Spreads Kindness Through Art in Special Volunteer Event with Help Now AZ
August 19, 2025 – Phoenix, AZ

On a warm Tuesday afternoon, members of the WICT Board came together not just in spirit, but in service, for a heartfelt volunteer initiative in partnership with Help Now AZ. Held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 2727 W Sweetwater Avenue in Phoenix, the event brought together board members with a shared purpose: to bring hope and encouragement to children and families experiencing homelessness.

The mission was simple yet deeply meaningful — decorate meal bags for children who may not otherwise receive breakfast, lunch, or snacks during the day. Using pre-approved uplifting messages provided by Help Now AZ, WICT volunteers transformed ordinary paper bags into colorful carriers of compassion, each one adorned with bright designs and thoughtful words of encouragement.

"Even something as small as a decorated lunch bag can remind a child that they matter," said one participant. “It’s our way of telling them, we see you, and we care.”
This initiative wasn’t just about art — it was about impact. Each bag represents a moment of joy and comfort for a child facing uncertain circumstances. The WICT Board’s time and creativity helped ensure that these young hearts feel acknowledged, supported, and valued.

Adding a layer of unity to the day, the Las Vegas WICT team was simultaneously hosting a local engagement event. While the two groups were miles apart, they remained closely connected in mission — giving back, spreading positivity, and reinforcing the power of community.
“Today reminded us that no matter where we are, we can be part of something bigger,” said one board member. “Whether through a warm smile at a gathering or a kind message on a paper bag, we can all make a difference.”
In a world often filled with noise and distraction, the simple act of kindness stood out — bright, bold, and heartfelt.

WICT Southwest Hosts Inspiring AI Mixer at Blanco Cocina + Cantina
July 29, 2025 – Phoenix, AZ

On a vibrant Tuesday evening, telecom professionals from across the region gathered at Blanco Cocina + Cantina for the WICT Southwest AI Mixer — a dynamic networking event dedicated to exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and the telecom industry.

Held at the stylish venue located at 2502 E Camelback Rd in Phoenix, the event welcomed attendees from all corners of the industry — from AI enthusiasts and innovators to those simply curious about the technology's growing role in telecom.

The mixer provided a relaxed and engaging atmosphere for guests to spark conversations, exchange ideas, and make meaningful professional connections. While sipping cocktails and enjoying Blanco’s modern Mexican fare, attendees dove into discussions about how AI is reshaping everything from customer service to network optimization.
“AI is no longer a distant concept — it’s here, and it’s transforming how we work,” said one attendee. “Tonight’s event gave us a chance to connect, share insights, and think about the future together.”
True to WICT Southwest’s mission of fostering leadership and community in telecom, the evening served as more than just a networking event — it was a space
June 10’s Aviators Night at the Las Vegas Ballpark was a big win. It was more than just a game—it was a reminder of the value of shared experiences, especially with the women we work with every day. In a fast-paced world of deadlines and meetings, stepping into a space where fun and friendship take center stage was refreshing and restorative.A Special Thanks to Cox Communications for providing the Cox Suite!
