Making Your Work Visible: What High Performers in Transition Need to Know

Overview

High-performing professionals in transition often face a challenge that does not show up on any performance review: their impact goes unseen, undervalued, or credited elsewhere, particularly in environments shaped by bias or cultural misalignment.

This session gives WGWY members the language, frameworks, and practical strategies to make their contributions visible, recognize performance bias when it is happening, and evaluate their next opportunity with clear eyes.

Lynn will lead a practical and reflective presentation on making high-impact work visible and choosing environments that support, rather than silence, the people doing the work. The session will explore how performance bias shows up during career transitions and what it actually costs high performers over time. Participants will learn concrete ways to name and document their contributions without feeling like they are inauthentically self-promoting. Lynn will draw on a personal interview experience to illustrate how organizational language and behavior signal culture before you ever accept an offer and why knowing what to listen for changes everything. The session will include reflective prompts and optional poll questions to help participants apply the insights in real time, followed by a Q&A for shared learning and community connection.
